Commonly Asked Questions
Before You Book
Yes, we encouraged you to visit our cat hotel before staying. There is no assessment visit required for cats. As long as your cat meets our staying requirements, you can book directly. We’ll gather information about your cat’s personality and preferences through our care agreement form, so we can prepare the right accommodation setup for them.
We require proof of current FVRCP (feline distemper combo) and rabies vaccinations before arrival. We also highly recommend for your cat to have FeLV vaccination. These will protects all cats in our care, since they will share many times together in one play area. Please bring documentation at drop-off or send it ahead of time.
Cats over 12 months must be fixed (spayed/neutered) to stay in our group areas for behavioural and safety reasons. Unfixed kittens may be accepted, but if issues arise, we may need to make them only staying in their cabin.
We have different accommodation options. Sociable cats can interact with others, while nervous cats get their own quiet space. Let us know your cat’s personality when booking, and we can try to set up the right environment for them. Some cats just prefer being alone—and that’s fine. We adapt to them, not force them to adapt to us.
Not a problem. You need to bring their regular food and any medications/supplements with clear instructions. Many cats are picky eaters, so keeping their usual diet reduces stress.
Daily Life at Lemmika
- Morning (8:00-12:00): Feeding, litter box cleaning, play/enrichment time, individual attention for each cat.
- Midday (12:00-16:00): Rest period (cats sleep 12-16 hours/day naturally), quiet supervision. They can choose to sleep in the playground, or quiet rest in their cabin.
- Afternoon (16:00-18:00): Second feeding, interactive play, climbing/exploration time.
- Evening (18:00-8:00): Cats settle into their spaces, overnight monitoring via cameras.
Cats set their own pace—some are playful, others prefer watching from their perch. We follow their lead.
No, we don’t have staff sleeping on-site. However, cats are monitored 24/7 via surveillance cameras, and we have alert protocols for any issues. Cats are naturally crepuscular (active at dawn/dusk), so they typically sleep through most of the night anyway. If your cat has medical needs requiring overnight human supervision, let us know how is the situation for your cat. We might be able to accept them case by case.
During business hours (8:00-20:00), the caregivers are on-site monitoring, feeding, and providing enrichment. Overnight (roughly 20:30-7:30), cats rest in their areas with camera monitoring but no caregiver present. This is approximately 14 hours—many cats sleep during this time naturally.
Each cat gets their own individual cabin. They won’t be sharing space with other cats, which reduces stress and territorial issues. This setup is perfect for cats who prefer their own space (which is most cats). Your cat can relax in their private territory without worrying about other felines.
Each individual cabin includes:
- Cozy bedding;
- Climbing furniture and short vertical space (cats feel safer up high);
- Hiding spots for privacy;
- Individual litter box (cleaned multiple times daily);
- Window perches for entertainment;
- Private feeding station with separate bowls for wet and dry foods;
- Climate-controlled comfort year-round.
Cats are housed in separate cabins, so they won’t have direct physical contact with other cats. Depending on cabin design, they may be able to hear or sniff other cats through the walls, but they maintain their own private space. This gives them the comfort and security of their own territory.

Common Cat Parents Worries
We monitor all cats for changes in behaviour, appetite, litter box use, or physical condition on daily basis. If there any concern, we will contact you immediately and have our veterinary partner for urgent care. Your emergency contact info should always be accessible.
It’s totally normal. Bring a familiar-smelling blanket to cover the carrier. Some cats do better with calming sprays (you might ask your vet). The stress of travel is usually worth it for quality care while you’re away, and most cats settle within a few hours of arrival.
Cats are more adaptable and resilient than we give them credit for. Most cats will settle within 6-24 hours once they realise the new place is safe and comfortable, there’s food and water, and the litter box is clean. Having their own private cabin helps a lot, and they can claim the space as their temporary territory. We’ve seen even nervous cats relax once they find their favorite perch. That said, some cats genuinely do better at home. If your cat has extreme anxiety, let us know and we can discuss whether boarding is the right choice.
No. Cats have excellent long-term memory, especially for their primary caregivers. They might give you the cold shoulder for an hour when you pick them up (classic cat guilt trip), but they definitely remember you.
Some cats skip meals the first day due to stress; this is normal. We monitor every cat’s appetite closely. If they refuse food beyond 24 hours, we will contact you and may recommend vet consultation. Bringing their regular food and treats helps a lot.
Not at all. Since every cat has their own individual cabin, your cat won’t have to interact with or share space with other cats. This is actually one of the biggest advantages of our setup: no territorial stress for your cat.
